A 66 block is a punch down block containing rows of four IDC style clips. It is used for terminating 22-26 AWG solid copper cross-connect station wiring for many types of phone systems. Bridge clips are required to complete the circuit between the left and right side of the 66 block.

This bracket fastens and holds the punchdown block firmly against the backboard or wall and allows the technician to terminate and install the 66 block with ease. The most common application for this bracket is in the configuration of phone systems that feature a 66 punchdown block. This bracket is not compatible with the 110 punchdown block design, which is typically used in configuring data (CAT 5 and above) systems.
